Requirements for Attending Events Paid by SPARK
Last year there seemed to be a great deal of confusion about memberships in SPARK. This year we have developed a system that should make SPARK even more successful than last year.
Anyone can participate in any events sponsored by SPARK that do not require buying tickets for students (flag football, volleyball tournaments, search for the silver soccer ball, talent show, after prom, etc).
However, to participate in events that require SPARK to buy tickets (The Renaissance Faire, Syracuse football game, The Enchanted Forest, An off- Broadway play, skiing) students must first contribute to the SPARK organization.
This year the first requirement is simple: sell two tickets (probably to your parents!) for the upcoming dinner. Simply give Mrs. Esposito the money for two tickets and you shall receive credit for the fundraiser. In addition, you will receive a fundraise participation ticket. This ticket will be placed in a drawing for ten - dollar gift certificate to the mall. You may also be in the drawing if you at the barbeque. If you sell eight or more tickets, your participation ticket will be placed in a drawing for forty - dollar gift certificate to the mall. This particular fundraiser must be completed if you wish to go to the Syracuse football game. It also will count towards all other events throughout the year. There will be only one other fundraiser, so participate now!
The second requirement is that you participate in ANY community service activity. Again, give proof of the activity to Mrs. Esposito and you will receive credit plus a community service ticket. This ticket will be placed in a drawing for as yet determined gift. This dose not have to be accomplished before the football game.
The third requirement is that you take part in ANY committee for planning SPARK events (school dance committees, after prom committees, homecoming committees, etc.) Again, you will receive credit and a ticket towards a drawing.
If you complete all three requirements, you will be able to call yourself an official SPARK Club member. This title can then be placed on your collage applications, your senior plaque, your resume, and gives you the opportunity to win a prize at the end of the school year.
