6th Grade –We are learning how to talk about all types of animals in Spanish –
jungle animals, farm animals, and pets. Students will learn adjectives to describe
animals and what the animal sounds are in Spanish. Did you know that dogs say “gua gua?”

Current News
7th Grade –Students are working on a unit on Physical Environment. We are
learning to talk about the weather and about geographic features in Spanish.
8th Grade –We have completed the shopping unit. Students have been practicing
in class and individually with Señora Berie for their speaking part of the NYS
Spanish Proficiency Exam. They will each complete four speaking tasks at the end
of May. These are worth a total of twenty points on their NYS Spanish Proficiency
Exam. All 8th grade Spanish students will need to report for their NYS Spanish
Proficiency Exam on Monday, June 23rd at 8:00 a.m. |

Spanish 5/JCC 222 –Students have been reading about sexism and equality
between men and women in the Hispanic World. They have read articles and
viewed video which talk about gender stereotypes and how to avoid perpetuating
these roles.
